Lessons

ISR Self-Rescue lessons are for children 6 months to 6 years with all one-on-one instruction.  Lessons are conducted 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), at a maximum of 10 minutes daily, for approximately 6 weeks. 

Skill Sets

Rollback to Float

Children 6-12 Months Old

Generally speaking, children ages 6 months to 1 year learn the ISR Self-Rescue skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest and breathe. They learn to maintain this position until help arrives.

Swim-Float-Swim

Children 1-6 Years Old

Older, more mobile children will learn the full ISR Self-Rescue sequence of swimming until they need air, rotating onto the back to float, then rolling back over to continue swimming. ISR students are taught to repeat this sequence until they reach the safety of the steps, side of the pool, or the shoreline.

New Students

$120.00 per week

Payments are due every Monday at the beginning of the lesson week. I offer various discounts such as military, firefighters, police, and more—please ask for details! The duration to achieve proficiency typically ranges from 5 to 7 weeks, depending on your child’s age, prior water experience, and comfort level in the water. ISR lessons are customized to match each child’s unique emotional and physical pace, ensuring progress aligns with their skill development.

Refresher Students

$120.00 per week

Refresher lessons are strongly encouraged every 6 to 12 months, based on your child’s age and current skill level. As children grow, their bodies change rapidly, and these lessons help reinforce previously learned skills to keep them sharp. Refresher courses generally last 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the time elapsed since your child’s last ISR lesson.

Maintenance Lessons

$24.00 per lesson

Maintenance lessons are highly recommended to keep skills strong! You can choose to schedule them weekly or as needed whenever concerns arise. The more frequently your child practices their skills, the more confident and capable a swimmer they’ll become!
